Dr. Neil T. N. Ferguson is the Director of the Peacebuilding Research Program at ISDC. He obtained his PhD in Economics from Heriot-Watt University in July 2013, focussing on theoretical and empirical analysis about the role of multiple aggressors in civil conflicts.

His current research interests lie in the analysis of peacebuilding interventions, on the relationship between development and peace at the micro-level, the financing of peace processes and on the relationship between experience of conflict and economic and non-economic behaviors. His work, primarily, uses quantitative methodologies, often supported by complementary in-depth qualitative approaches.

Neil has undertaken research across multiple regions and countries, including: Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Jordan, Lebanon and Niger. Previously, Neil held research positions at the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
